Edit, pause or cancel a campaign

What you can change on a live campaign, which changes go back through approval, how pausing works, and what cancelling means for billing.

Editing

Open the campaign from your Campaigns list. You can change:

  • Budget — raise or lower the total or daily budget.
  • Dates — extend the end date, or shorten it.
  • Creative — add, replace or remove creatives.
  • Daypart and pacing.
  • Targeting — add or remove locations, points of interest, filters and screens.

Changes that affect what plays, where, or at what rate go back through a quick re-approval before they apply. Delivery on the existing plan continues in the meantime, so a pending edit never interrupts a live campaign. Spend already delivered is unaffected.

Pausing

Pause stops delivery straight away. The campaign keeps its screens, dates and approval, and Resume starts it playing again without a new review. A paused campaign is not charged, because nothing delivers.

Pause when you have run out of stock, when an offer needs to change, or to hold an always-on campaign over a quiet period.

Ending a campaign early

End campaign stops delivery for good and releases the screens; the campaign shows as Ended. You are charged for impressions that delivered up to that moment and nothing after. An ended campaign cannot be resumed; duplicate it to run again. See Duplicating a campaign.

Extending

To keep a campaign running past its end date, edit the end date before it ends. An ended campaign cannot be extended; duplicate it instead.

When JOLT pauses a campaign

JOLT may pause a campaign if a payment method in the campaign's market cannot be charged after the 24-hour grace period, or if your organization's monthly spend cap is reached. You are emailed either way, and resuming is a matter of fixing the cause. See How billing works and Spend caps.
