What is JOLT Ads and how does it work?

JOLT Ads is a self-serve platform for buying digital out-of-home advertising on JOLT's EV-charging screen network. Plan, price, launch and measure in one place.

The network

JOLT operates a network of large, portrait digital screens built into free EV-charging stations. The screens sit at street level in retail centers, supermarket car parks, high streets and transport hubs — places people walk and drive past every day. Your ad plays on those screens in rotation with other advertisers.

JOLT Ads is the platform for buying that space yourself. There is no insertion order, no minimum term and no media agency required, although agencies are welcome and have their own tools.

What you can do

  • Plan by place. Choose an address, suburb, city or metro and a radius, or target screens near specific points of interest such as gyms, cafés or a competitor's stores.
  • See the price before you commit. Every plan shows a live CPM (cost per thousand impressions), a forecast of impressions and plays, and the screens included.
  • Set your own budget and dates. Run a two-week burst or run continuously. Cap the total or set a daily budget.
  • Upload once, run everywhere. One portrait creative (1080 × 1920) plays on every screen in your plan.
  • Measure what delivered. Impressions, plays and spend by day, screen and creative, refreshed through the day, with a shareable report.

How a campaign moves through JOLT

  1. Plan. You build the campaign in a three-step wizard: audience and targeting, schedule and budget, creative and launch. See Your first campaign, step by step.
  2. Review. Every campaign and every creative is checked by the JOLT team before it plays. Creative review is usually under one business day.
  3. Live. Once approved, your ad starts playing on the scheduled start date, or straight away if the start has passed. You get an email when it does.
  4. Pay for what plays. You are only charged for impressions that actually deliver, in your market's currency. See How billing works.
